The Website Design
During my winter 2023 co-op for my graphic design program, I undertook the web design and development of the Critter Cards website. This project allowed me to showcase my skills in creating user-friendly and visually appealing websites.
The Development
In the development phase of Critter Cards, I brought the fantasy card game to life on the digital landscape by using WordPress. Integrating an e-commerce functionality, I designed and implemented a user-friendly shopping experience where parents and guardians could easily purchase the Critter Cards game for their kids.
To ensure optimal user experience, I conducted a comprehensive task analysis, carefully planning and streamlining the site’s functionality. The result was an enhanced and user-centric website that effectively catered to the needs and preferences of its visitors.
In this task analysis, the objective was for the user to add 2 copies of the Critter Card main game to their cart and proceed through the checkout process.
The Prototype
In crafting the prototype for Critter Cards, I embarked on a design journey guided by thorough research and a creative brief. The initial phase involved delving into the target audience’s preferences, understanding the educational objectives, and grasping the fantasy themes that resonate with kids. Using Figma, I translated these ideas into a visually engaging and intuitive user interface, ensuring that the card game integrated math and resource management elements.
